The Chronicles of Salis Lux

Thiago Seidel Busch

Everyday tales concealing portals to the unseen.

In this book, the mundane reveals itself as extraordinary. A cup forgotten at the sink, a queue at the bank, a letter that arrives too late—in every trivial gesture, Salis Lux carves gateways to moral dilemmas, encounters with time, speaking memories, and silences that cry out.

The Chronicles of Salis Lux brings together stories that are brief yet profound, where ordinary characters undergo transformative experiences. The protagonist’s inner journey reflects like a mirror for the reader, inviting a pause, a moment of listening, and a deep dive into the symbolic layers of existence.

With tender and densely poetic prose, Salis Lux offers narratives that oscillate between delicacy and the abyss, touching upon themes such as forgiveness, freedom, solitude, love, and purpose—always with the lightness of one who understands that the human soul is revealed within the details.

This collection is an invitation to contemplate life in its most intimate and mysterious folds.

Each chronicle is a threshold. Each threshold, a universe.

And at the end of every story, an ancient voice—the Bard—whispers into the reader’s ear the lessons that only time and poetry know how to teach.

Worship: Praise or entertainment?

Thiago Seidel Busch

Have you ever paused to consider what we are truly singing within our churches?

Do the lyrics that shape our worship services genuinely reflect the centrality of God’s Word? Or have we, bit by bit, shifted the focus of adoration from God to the "self"?

Christian music plays a powerful role within the Church—and for that very reason, it deserves closer scrutiny. Throughout history, great figures of the faith shared this concern. Huldrych Zwingli, a leader of the Swiss Reformation, viewed the almost "seductive" power of music with caution. John Calvin, in turn, sought to reform how we sang, reclaiming the practices of the Early Church.

It was against this backdrop that this book was born: a quest to understand musical worship from a biblical perspective. By comparing the Old Testament with the worship of the Early Church, and looking through the lens of Protestant Reformational ideals, we analyze not only the theory—but the practice.

The data may surprise you: in a study comparing the lyrics of one hundred Brazilian Christian songs with the one hundred and fifty Psalms, a pattern emerged. A vast majority of contemporary songs revolve around the individual—their pain, their dreams, and their victories. The problem? A certain tone of hedonism and egocentrism has infiltrated our playlists, often without us even noticing.

If this sparks a light within you, I invite you to dive into this reflection with us. Because true worship does not revolve around us—it revolves around Him.
